Notes from a parish cat and his author Julie Mackenzie

My photo
I am Father Tom Fish, esteemed member of the religious team at Temptation of Christ Parish in the novels by author Julie Mackenzie. As to my background, I was invited into the rectory as a stray, laid on the charm, and was invited to stay, even honorarily ordained and no less spiritual than my sidekick Father Will. He dotes on me to high heaven and forgives all of my street cat proclivities, whatever the hell that means.

Can't We Get Any Peace Around Here?

Yeah, I definitely was purrturrbed as you can tell, but I don't remember about what.  Maybe it was Bridget and something she said or did. Or, maybe it was someone knocking at the door. It almost looks like I'm saying.."You mean I woke up for this?" (go away, you bleepity-bleeping bleep!)

We'll be getting our new roof estimate this week. Maybe the housekeeper'll have this same expression when she hears it! Either that, or no expression, a dead faint and a dire need for smelling salts, hehe

Have a good week, furriends!

PS. The housekeeper had a great Mother's Day. Hope your moms did, too!

TOM

EEEK....a new roof means lots of banging and noise! We hope it's not too many green papers!

You might have to wait for Christmas--the Season of Peace--to get any, and that comes with no guarantee!

Hi Tom, my name is Dori, and I know sumthin about being disturbed. We moved to FloryDa ten months ago, and there has not been a moment of peace since. Lots of growling, barking, howling and hissing... and that's just from my pawrents! Stuff needed to be repaired, and stuff needed to be replaced. It's been an expensive undertaking that, thankfully, I as a kitteh, have no interest in. So pleezed to meet mew. Purrs, Dori from Wonderpurr

Y'all may get completely annoyed with the noise of the new roof being put on, but oh how nice it will be once it's done - you'll be all snug and safe.

Sometimes you can be perturbed for no particular reason. Maybe a bit of catnip toy will help your mood.
Hopefully the roof estimate isn't awful. We just had a new furnace / AC installed and getting the estimates went surprisingly smoothly (all the companies we contacted showed up in a timely manner).
