Notes from a parish cat and his author Julie Mackenzie

My photo
I am Father Tom Fish, esteemed member of the religious team at Temptation of Christ Parish in the novels by author Julie Mackenzie. As to my background, I was invited into the rectory as a stray, laid on the charm, and was invited to stay, even honorarily ordained and no less spiritual than my sidekick Father Will. He dotes on me to high heaven and forgives all of my street cat proclivities, whatever the hell that means.

Tulips Coming Up (Can Almost Hear Them!)

Hi, friends,

A little late this morning, but wanted to introduce my new header. Shows you how much I want spring to get here! We had beautiful tulips last year and the housekeeper thought they would look even better with a photo of me..haha!!

Just thinking this morning how the warmer weather with windows open and sunshine actually has one big drawback. The cuddles are discontinued. Bridget turns into this territorial maniac if she gets to the window first, forgetting all the affection she's bestowed on me for the last seven months!

So, it's goodbye to cuddles like this, but fortunately, we each can claim a window unless I insist on taking a stand where we both like to go which is the south side. (The housekeeper has the birdbath on the north side and the sun is at the other window where our famous battles take place!!)

Next time, we'll celebrate St. Paddy's day and maybe the open window with this week's temps getting up to 50!!!

Take care and stay well, my friends and have a good week!

~Tom, Bridget and Penny xoxoxo

Yes spring is coming but I don't think that is a good reason for cuddles to be over!

That is a lovey header. We have had sunny days but below freezing at night. Getting milder from Wednesday but wet and windy. I prefer the cold and dry.
I am sure you will have a few more snuggles yet.

Be nice Bridget, it's pretty easy to do! We're all ready for Blooming Season too.

Seeing you in the tulip...oh what a beautiful sight. At least that's what mommy said it is. But you know her...she's not always right. We have had 50-59 these past several days. Let's have a party! A window party!

We love that header Tom. We think the battles over window seats will calm down a bit once spring really sets in

Spring, tulips, daffs and all kinds of fun stuff - yay! Cuddles are still allowed in Spring I believe.

No tiptoeing through the tulips here yet. We had 60s today too.

We love your new header! And we hope Bridgie will be a little better about sharing the window with you.

Angel and Chuck would get huffy, if I tried to look out the same window as them, and Da Boyz kinda do the same. Sweetie, however, let's me join her and we watch...nothing. I see nothing, but she is watching something!

Even with the warmer weather showing strong around here, I still get to enjoy the cuddles. Mom and dad can't help themselves, and I'll take all I can get! Love the new header photo, too.

We had some nice Spring weather, and then we had a hail storm! It's very confusing. Hopefully Spring will soon be here to stay.
