Notes from a parish cat and his author Julie Mackenzie

My photo
I am Father Tom Fish, esteemed member of the religious team at Temptation of Christ Parish in the novels by author Julie Mackenzie. As to my background, I was invited into the rectory as a stray, laid on the charm, and was invited to stay, even honorarily ordained and no less spiritual than my sidekick Father Will. He dotes on me to high heaven and forgives all of my street cat proclivities, whatever the hell that means.

Dark Shadows

Hi, furry folks and peoples!

Where's the heat? Even toy mice are looking to get warm!

It is so COOOOOLD!!!

I hope you're all warm where you are. Bridget, Penny and I are feeling Mother Nature's cold temps lately, with shortened time in our sun puddles and finding we lose light so quick! Here I'll be thinking it's later in the day, but no, it's really suppertime. I don't like the chillyness and early darkness descending with all my windows lowered, then closed. Notice I said MY windows!

With all this going on, Bridget is finding other things to amuse her. She likes shadows and swears this shadow is acting on its own! I tell her it's her imagination at first. Shadows are just that - shadows of ourselves and what we're doing.

She's not so sure. I have to admit, this shadow is looking a bit odd.

Anyway, all's well here except she can't seem to leave Penny alone. That's another thing. I guess these two will just have to get used to each other.

~~~
For me, I'll just be looking for a warm spot to snuggle up in. Maybe even a lap!
Have a good week!
TOM, BRIDGET & PENNY ^..^
It's really cold here too, but we don't have our mice keeping warm yet!
We don't have cool here yet, just less hot. Remember Tom, the cooler weather means more snuggle time - Fall has it's advantages. I wonder if the Fall temps will encourage those gals to snuggle - it's a thought.
We have had a few warm days getting up to mid 60s. That is better than most of our summer has been apart from early on. It is forecast to get cooler from tomorrow though. I don't like the shorter daylight hours either.
It's not hot here, but not yet cool (still in the 80-90s). Your mouse found a cozy spot! Hopefully Bridget and Penny are settling in and coexisting peacefully.
It got a lot cooler here too! But they say it’s gonna warm up later this week...which is fine with us.
We have hit the mid 40s at night and Dad turned on the heat. Hope we can keep using the cat yard. Keep warm friends
It's been colder here, too, but we're in a string of nice days right now. Highs in the mid 70s, lows in the high 50s ... yeah!
We sure hope Bridgie and Penny can channel some peace, love and understanding. XO
See, one more reason to enjoy that I'm an only cat here. We're moving from the still nice and warm shoreline out to the mountains in the western part of NC where it's already chilly most mornings. Stupid humans!
