Notes from a parish cat and his author Julie Mackenzie

My photo
I am Father Tom Fish, esteemed member of the religious team at Temptation of Christ Parish in the novels by author Julie Mackenzie. As to my background, I was invited into the rectory as a stray, laid on the charm, and was invited to stay, even honorarily ordained and no less spiritual than my sidekick Father Will. He dotes on me to high heaven and forgives all of my street cat proclivities, whatever the hell that means.

ALL THESE LITTLE DOORS!

Hi, efurrybody in holiday land!

The days are going by fast and furious and we're finding ourselves catching up with our Advent calendar. We never seem to get it in time to open the first door on the first day of December. Does that happen to you? Maybe if we got one with treats behind doors, like chocolate or cheese (for me!) it would give us the incentive to get our calendar when we're supposed to!

Here is what we have so far this month. Check out today's door!

Hope you have your calendar handy. If not, we'll share this one with you every so often. (Only if there's an exciting door reveal, ha!)

Finally, remember, we cats love to open doors. One every day? Sheer heaven!

Merry Christmas!
Tom

Tom, one of my furriends mommy sent MY mommy an Advent calendar, the first in many years that she has had. Behind each door is the story of the coming of the Lord. Her doesn't;t go for candy and all that. The original advent calendar suits her and me, just fines. XXXX

Getting the calendar late does give you the opportunity to play catch up on the first couple of days. I wonder if after Christmas they are half price? One calendar is never enough. I think a minimum of three is required--each different! I wonder if there is a catnip calendar? I am sure an old one could be repurposed.

Today's paw is cute. It looks like it is trying to grab the candle.

Your advent calendar is beautiful! I would like chocolate or cheese behind door, too :-)

I LOVE the paw! My mommy and I were sent an Advent calendar the first of this month and we have been opening the doors. Each door has a bible verse on the other side and a wee picture on the inside.
