Notes from a parish cat and his author Julie Mackenzie

My photo
I am Father Tom Fish, esteemed member of the religious team at Temptation of Christ Parish in the novels by author Julie Mackenzie. As to my background, I was invited into the rectory as a stray, laid on the charm, and was invited to stay, even honorarily ordained and no less spiritual than my sidekick Father Will. He dotes on me to high heaven and forgives all of my street cat proclivities, whatever the hell that means.

A Special Message

There's been so much going on, it's making my head spin.

Through all of this, I have come to the conclusion that the colors yellow and red hold a special significance. They remind us of candle flames now flickering on both sides of the Atlantic, in celebration and remembrance. There's also the red and gold of the British Queen's guards. (Can you imagine getting caught in all of those legs?)

In honour of the Royal Wedding, I am not only sporting my distinguished roman collar, but also adorned in cat-sized vestments. Another rich display of red and gold, colours that go well with any shade of fur.

I admit, I do look a little mussed, though. That's from all the attention I've enjoyed!
(Many thanks to Ann at Zoolatry for my distinguished look.)

You look very regal Tom - what a shame you weren't marching with the Guards yesterday as the red and gold would look lovely against your furs.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

Indeed you should have gone to Westminster abbey in this outfit. Perfect !

Westminster Abbey would have welcomed you with open arms, I am sure. And you are right about getting lost in all those legs! That's probably why we didn't see any cats in the photo.

Just want to thank everyone for their flattering comments. Yes, I would have loved to have been in the Abbey, purring some prayers and trilling a few hymns.

Hope you all had a restful Sunday. Julie says her writing is restful and her thoughts are never far from friends in the blogosphere.

Take care,
Tom
