Notes from a parish cat and his author Julie Mackenzie

My photo
I am Father Tom Fish, esteemed member of the religious team at Temptation of Christ Parish in the novels by author Julie Mackenzie. As to my background, I was invited into the rectory as a stray, laid on the charm, and was invited to stay, even honorarily ordained and no less spiritual than my sidekick Father Will. He dotes on me to high heaven and forgives all of my street cat proclivities, whatever the hell that means.

No Trespassing!

Hi, furry folks!

I ask you - do I have to put up a sign to preserve my space and keep it from intruders? I know my friend Bridget doesn't consider herself an intruder, but in this case, she was.

The rectory has a loft area with a nice, cozy corner spot where I get away from it all and sleep. Well, this intrusive varmint discovered it and rousted me out! The nerve! And look at her expression - no remorse whatsoever and no apology!

I made it clear that I didn't like it one bit, but it didn't matter. She oozed victorious, maxed out in triumphant and took such perverse pleasure in her discovery and my disappointment in her.

Anyway, I'll get past this and get to snooze another day, only I'll have to find someplace else.

Hope you all have a special place to rest and not be bothered by other cats or humans, where one can snooze and dream in peace!

Searching for a place to stretch and unfurl my furs,
Tom

Tom, as I commented on FB; you simply need to get to that space prior to some other cat getting there! Or, time to search out a brand-new napping locale, where none of the household womenfolk will find you!

The sad news is that you cannot hide from another cat and wherever you find new to hide, sooner or later you will be found out! Sharing is the only option! 😺

There's not many private snoozy spots here either!

Bridget does look to be quite satisfied with herself. I hope you get your cozy spot back soon.

You have to keep a close eye on those lady cats Tom. They have no boundaries

It's always the way that someone else finds your favourite spot!
