Notes from a parish cat and his author Julie Mackenzie

My photo
I am Father Tom Fish, esteemed member of the religious team at Temptation of Christ Parish in the novels by author Julie Mackenzie. As to my background, I was invited into the rectory as a stray, laid on the charm, and was invited to stay, even honorarily ordained and no less spiritual than my sidekick Father Will. He dotes on me to high heaven and forgives all of my street cat proclivities, whatever the hell that means.

A Friendversary

It's a happy day around here as we celebrate my five-year friendship with Bridget de la Furr. She was just Bridget for the longest time and then I got the bright idea to give her a surname. Mine—Fishworthy—didn't come right away, either. Pets usually are given the last names of their family, but it was kinda hard for us since an entire parish is considered family.

Here she is, a kitten, just a few months old:

From the very beginning, we were close. She never left my side.

This photo was taken recently. She listens to my words of wisdom in such a cute way, don't you think?

Yes, we have quite the friendship!

So, cheers little sidekick..may we have many more sunpuddles to share!

Tom

It's good to have a friend like that, Tom. (Plus, how could you have resisted that little girl to begin with??)
