Notes from a parish cat and his author Julie Mackenzie

My photo
I am Father Tom Fish, esteemed member of the religious team at Temptation of Christ Parish in the novels by author Julie Mackenzie. As to my background, I was invited into the rectory as a stray, laid on the charm, and was invited to stay, even honorarily ordained and no less spiritual than my sidekick Father Will. He dotes on me to high heaven and forgives all of my street cat proclivities, whatever the hell that means.

Saturday Scribbling

I love pencils.

Being a cat with many toes, I can almost hold one.

Mom Julie saw me with a pencil the other day and grabbed her camera to capture my success if I was able to do it.

First I had to get a good hold

Again, a good hold

Oops, dropped it on the floor. For pete's sake, would you put the camera down and get my pencil, please?

Okay, let me try it this way

Guess not. Oooh, this eraser sure tastes good!

Never mind. I'll just have to practice when I don't have that flashy thing to make me nervous!

That's right! How are you to concentrate with that flashy thing blinding you every other second? MOL.
Just make sure you don't eat the pencil like what Mommy's cousin's dog did. Hahaha.

Chewing is probably better than drawing anyway! Mom has never shared her pencils with us so we don't know for sure. MOL

Well.. you're indeed talented Tom! If any kitty can do it.. you sure can. :) I love pencils too. And pens, and sharpies. I have quite a collection. They're such fun, and enable us to be so creative.. don't you agree? Have a wonderful weekend, friend!

Yeah that flashy thing! I know you can hold it when your mom does not have it :-) You sure look like enjoying the eraser. Does it taste like chicken?

Just be careful you don't get too proficient with that pencil, Tom. You might end up doing all the writing for your Mom's book as she dictates it to you.

Um, it really is easier to write your life story using a computer keyboard. Especially if you can get your Staff to do the typing.

Isn't it funny how the folks spend lots of $$$$ for kittie toys that we don't use and we find so much more interestings to do with our time. Great job in mastering the pencil. Well done!

We believe you can use that pencil, Tom. The camera makes us a little nervous, too. Hugs!

You're so talented, Tom. You do need your privacy though in performing such a trick.
