Notes from a parish cat and his author Julie Mackenzie

My photo
I am Father Tom Fish, esteemed member of the religious team at Temptation of Christ Parish in the novels by author Julie Mackenzie. As to my background, I was invited into the rectory as a stray, laid on the charm, and was invited to stay, even honorarily ordained and no less spiritual than my sidekick Father Will. He dotes on me to high heaven and forgives all of my street cat proclivities, whatever the hell that means.

Ch-ch-ch-changes..!

Hi, everybody on this Monday..the first week in August,

Mother Nature is about to change her clothes. I'll bet the shift in seasons was never put that way before..hehe...I'm a poet and don't I know it!

Yep, she'll shed her summer apparel and begin wearing reds and yellows and all the bright colors of autumn and the air will have a bit of chill to it..I can't wait!!!

Here you see me bolting out of a sun puddle. In summer these puddles get just a bit too warm for my taste. In autumn and winter, I look for them, move along the floor with them and can't get enough. It's funny how that works.

So, we'll all watch and wait since we really don't have any other choice.
Do your best to stay cool, my friends as Mother Nature continues to heat up the griddle..it won't be long now.

Toodle-loo!!

TOM

Still a little early for the leaves around here. The Dad was stationed up at the old Loring AFB in northern Maine in '70 but he remembers the snow more than the leaves! Hope you get to play with some leaves when they fall down Tom.

We had our summer in late March/April when we were in lock down and could only enjoy it in the garden. Since then it has been mostly cool and wet. When the hot weather is forecast for the UK, it forgets about us in the far Southwest.

It's lovely when the fall colors come. Unfortunately, we have another month of Hots, and then not many trees have colors. But we will appreciate when the Hots go away.

It’s hard to think about autumn when it’s still 80 degrees here.
