Notes from a parish cat and his author Julie Mackenzie

My photo
I am Father Tom Fish, esteemed member of the religious team at Temptation of Christ Parish in the novels by author Julie Mackenzie. As to my background, I was invited into the rectory as a stray, laid on the charm, and was invited to stay, even honorarily ordained and no less spiritual than my sidekick Father Will. He dotes on me to high heaven and forgives all of my street cat proclivities, whatever the hell that means.

The Art of the Snooze

Hi, friends and happy Monday..or just snooze and it'll be over quick!

When it comes to naps and snoozes, mine are pretty ordinary. It's what happens inside my head when I'm off to dreamland that makes all the difference. I have had more adventures while in the Land of Nod than anywhere else. And, that includes finding the extraterrestrial device lodged in the housekeeper's petunias last summer. It was a round disk smelling weird and killing the flowers around it.

Different snooze places give me different dreams. Like here, for instance. Want to know what I'm  dreaming about?

This!!! Just a few well-placed words antagonize me enough to erupt..in my dream, of course.

When I'm alone, I have better dreams

Like this one - writing plays and sonnets and such, appealing to cats, honoring my hero:

Or, I'm playing the best hand yet with a derringer in my pocket, just in case.

This is just a sampling of what I dream about. I can imagine myself doing just about anything a human can do - while I'm curled up on my pillow or stretched out on a windowsill in the sun.

Any dreams you want to talk about?

Happy dreams to you!

One dreamy kinda guy,
Tom

You are one dreamy guy Tom - I like the Shakesworthy the best, but I'm a bit of a fan of The Bard - so that explains that!

You have very imaginative dreams Tom. I think all we do is wiggle our feet chasing dream animals! That's when we are not out breakin' the law!
Scooby's Outlaws.

Oh Tom...what a dreamy mancat you are!
I dream sometimes about being in a large mall, or office complex, and I'm lost, or getting to where I want to go is blocked, and I have to find a new way to get where I need to go but never make it!

Tom those were some very cool dreams. I like to dream from under the blanket next to Dad. I dream I am riding Rumpy around the house like a big white tailless horse MOL
