Notes from a parish cat and his author Julie Mackenzie

My photo
I am Father Tom Fish, esteemed member of the religious team at Temptation of Christ Parish in the novels by author Julie Mackenzie. As to my background, I was invited into the rectory as a stray, laid on the charm, and was invited to stay, even honorarily ordained and no less spiritual than my sidekick Father Will. He dotes on me to high heaven and forgives all of my street cat proclivities, whatever the hell that means.

Stink-Eye Monday

One of the anthems around here is "My Way."

Everybody loves that song. People who can't sing sing it.
Celebrations of life, aka funerals, it's sung with gusto.

So, is everything in life really up to our way?

Setting clocks back, forward, up, down - whatever, isn't.
Taxes aren't. Yeah, try paying them your way and see what happens!!
Getting behind the wheel and driving. There are laws...!

That's all I can think of. I'm cranky today anyway because the
housekeeper is. I just stay out of her way, but I did want everyone to
know my thoughts about all this "My Way" business when we really
don't have things our way one hundred percent.

I might, though.

See if anybody gets to use this laptop as long I'm sitting on it!!

I think cats get their way more than humans do and that's a fact. Cats who are loved like me, of course!!

Of course cats get their own way, even if we think it will be otherwise.

You sure got the "it's mine now" look, good for you!

Yep, felines do have a better than average track record for getting their way, fur sure.

We agree with you, Tom. We *do* get our way more often than humans. At least that's how it is here.

HAH! You must be thinking of the Sid Vicious version when you say those who can't sing sing it. We prefer New York New York cos I can make it here although I haven't made it anyplace else. Love you, Tom.
