Notes from a parish cat and his author Julie Mackenzie

My photo
I am Father Tom Fish, esteemed member of the religious team at Temptation of Christ Parish in the novels by author Julie Mackenzie. As to my background, I was invited into the rectory as a stray, laid on the charm, and was invited to stay, even honorarily ordained and no less spiritual than my sidekick Father Will. He dotes on me to high heaven and forgives all of my street cat proclivities, whatever the hell that means.

The World Through the Haze of Floof

Hi, efurryone..Anastasia here,

We had an eventful week. These calla lilies are right on our neighbors' doorstep. Aren't they pretty?

Our baby birds are gone, flown off to begin new lives. Here is the last photo we have of them.

Even though their name is swallow, and I must admit, seeing them did stir up my appetite, I never had any intention of taking them up on their name. They were too much fun to watch for that.

We're counting the days to our permanent home. It's now 27 and getting closer! I can't wait--Mom and I will move in, I will get to claim my turf first, and then we'll head north to pick up the boys and the last of our things. We're still waiting for the movers to come up with a date close to settlement where they can bring our things down and arrange for a load somewhere on the way back. This saves everybody money!

Dear furriends, that's all for now. In between my poufings, floofings, preenings, snoozings, filling in for Tom, and everyone singing my praises, I'm plum worn out.

xxoo~A.

We usually have lots of swallows here but have seen very few this year. Mum thinks it is because the Spring was so cold and stormy that they never made it back.
That is good thinking claiming your turf first. Make sure you get the prime spots.

Wow, you is having quite the adventure Anastasia! We moved a long time ago (three years) and it was a scary day....Sasha almost got losted.

We can't imagine a move taking more than 27 days...that's a furry long time for kitties.

Mom says good luck with the move, she hopes everything goes very smoothly. We just hopes your beans don't forget anything impawtant, like cat toys, food, and treats.

Know the baby birdies are doing well. Their mommie taught them to fly and how to find food. Now they will grow up and have their own family. Looks like you are having a nice nap. Think I will teleport home and catch some zzzzzs too.

Mary said...

You need to catch up on your Zzzzzzs Anastasia. :) Weekends are prime time for that. And yes, saving money is an excellent thing. More money for fun cat treats and toys after all!
