Notes from a parish cat and his author Julie Mackenzie

My photo
I am Father Tom Fish, esteemed member of the religious team at Temptation of Christ Parish in the novels by author Julie Mackenzie. As to my background, I was invited into the rectory as a stray, laid on the charm, and was invited to stay, even honorarily ordained and no less spiritual than my sidekick Father Will. He dotes on me to high heaven and forgives all of my street cat proclivities, whatever the hell that means.

Don't Touch That Dial

I let Mom Julie make up the titles to my blog and I'm not sure I really know what she means by that. I think it's a human expression having to do with TV in ancient times.

Anyhow, besides the commercials on human TV, we cats also watch a little bird TV

Although sometimes they're in black and white

Always more appetizing easier to see in winter without the leaves

I sure could use a bib as I drool all over myself watching them

Then, there's butterfly TV

We don't want to forget squirrel/chipmunk TV but we couldn't find the channel at the moment, hehe..

And then..there's Fox News!

Isn't he/she cute?  A little bigger than we are, but not by much. Grey foxes don't bother kitties, just critters much smaller. And, you know what? Aesop was right. They do eat grapes! (when they can reach them, that is :) Mom Julie throws out bread every now and then and we get a visit. I really love this channel!

So, there you have it. We don't need a signal, don't need a dish, and don't need a dial or remote. We kitties are easily entertained and if the windows/doors are open, that's even better!

Hugs and a restful weekend to everyone.

Fox channel? Wow! That's extra special, Tom. We've never seen a fox.

We hope you're all doing well. Our grandpa (and uncle) left yesterday afternoon, so we're slowly getting back into our regular routine. :-)

We just commented and it disappeared - of course Mum can't remember what we told her to type - she's getting old and her excuse is it's raining!!
Anyway we don't get fax tv here any more - it used to be available but the foxes decided to try elsewhere (a better class of noms to scavenge!!)

We get Fox Radio. There are red foxes (smaller than us) in the woods and sometimes we can hear them making their weird screeches at night.
We also have the Loosey Goosey Network with the big Canada Geese and the Mallard Ducks.
Lots to watch!

Great TV reviews! This summer a butterfly came up and sat right outside of window. I was mesmerized. I don't think I'd like Fox tv. Na mean?

I loved this post! Very clever to think of looking out the window as watching television! What's great about window tv is that there's no commercials! Thanks for posting!

Your TV is much better than ours too We don't get Fox News at all. I do get the chippmunk channel tho, and he's pretty entertaining. Then of course there is always Bird TV, which is especially good if they land on the step just outside the patio door.

You have some pawsome TV channels there!! Our stations are quite boring by comparison.

We don't get Fox channel here, and the reception tends to be a little fuzzy on everything except Bird and Squirrel TV. But it's still better than most human TV.

Don't you love it when the weather is nice enough for open doors and windows? Then you get volume on the bird/squirrel/fox/critter tv!

Fantastic TV channels, Tom! What fun. Foxes are beautiful, and of course, so are birds and butterflies. And you know, when a fox sleeps, he/she looks kind of like a kitty. :) I'm sure they keep you highly entertained. My four kitties mostly get squirrel and bird TV. I think they love those squirrel tails. And by the way, i want to mention that i got your Mom's book, A Temptation Tale, in the mail this week and can't wait to read it this weekend! It's a very handsome pic of you on the cover. Have an excellent weekend.

Those are some terriific pictures, especially the fox. We did not know that gray foxes don't bother cats. I figured that because there was a gray fox that went under the neighbor's house where our Girl Kitty lives and she was find and we never saw them again. Take good care.

Ha ha, Fox News!! WE don't get as many channels, because we're city cats. We get the Squirrel Network and the Birdie Channel. And when a moth gets in the house, look out - Skootch really goes for Moth Reality TV.
