More Sadness

Ages ago it seems like now, we had a new friend who encouraged us to join a wonderful cat loving group, and we did. Whicky Wuudler was his name and he introduced us to his Everycat family, too.

When we lost Whicky to the Bridge, we were devastated. Now his brother, Gerry, has gone on to be with Whicky and our hearts are breaking over this.

Just recently, we found this beautiful picture and are thinking how much like Gerry this kitty looks.

If the Bridge has perches bathed in moonlight, then Gerry is there.

We send our love and deepest condolences to a family that has shown over and over how much their cats are loved. Unfortunately, the greater the love, the deeper the loss, as we all know only too well.

At their blog, there is a wonderful tribute to a kitty whose time on this earth, like Tom's, was too painfully short. But, in that brief time, they give us a precious gift that we will carry in our hearts until we meet again.

This is my favorite of all the photos taken of Gerry, if we may. We wanted to include it in our own tribute today to a special cat and a special family.

All our love,

Mom Julie, Tinker, Anastasia and Angel Tom xx

We read with great sadness about the passage of Gerry. It is oh so hard to let them go, but the apes over at Everycat did so with the greatest love and compassion. We are sending lots of powerful thoughts of healing to them as we can easily understand their breaking and aching hearts. August was a very sad month for so many in the blogging community. We hope that September treats us all far kinder.

I didn't really know this family of kitty bloggers, but I read the sad story about Gerry and was so moved by the love he was given his whole life and the care he had in his last days.

We went by Everycat's blog earlier today after learning of Gerry's passing. We are so sad for his family. Too many of our friends have been leaving and too many tears are being shed. But one blogger's loss is shared by all. :(

What a wonderful photo, and what a beautiful tribute to your friend Gerry. So much love they give us when they're here, and we love them with our whole hearts. I wish often that we could keep our feline wonders with us longer just by loving them, holding them close.. that we could make them all better. But that's not real, i know. Sweet, loving creatures who make our lives more loving and full of sweetness!

Sometimes it seems as though all the news we get in the Cat Blogosphere is of loss and sorrow. That's the news that touches us the most deeply. Yet there are cats finding new homes every day; the Blogosphere has many rescue-group bloggers, and they find homes for many wonderful animals. Individual bloggers adopt new cats. In sorrow too deep to fathom, it's difficult to remember the good in the world, but every cat who passes away leaves a legacy of love that will be shared with others, human and feline.

We were so sad about Gerry going to the Bridge too but we're sure that he had many friends (including Whicky Wuudler) there who were waiting to greet him at the gate.

Thank you for your kind message to me and I'm pleased to say I am feeling much better than I was this morning. I have been stabbed again by the vet who means well but ouch!! I have started to eat small amounts again which Mum says is good as she didn't want me to over eat.

I've been unable to comment regularly and shocked to hear the news about Tom and now Gerry. I'm so, so sorry for your loss. They leave a huge legacy and were much loved. And I'm glad you're blogging again. It's a healing balm on the grieving journey.
