That Time of Year Again

Each year my cheer is dwindled
I feel my joie is swindled
I can't endure
For this I'm sure
My spirit has been Kindled.

You're right. I don't like Lent. I do my best, though, in the spirit of the season.

So--the question is: What does a cat in my position give up for Lent?  Sardines?  Dogs?

Here are some of the things I was asking myself:

Should I give up--

The comfort of a purse?

 My drawer?

Should I try to hold my tongue?

Give up my balance beam? (I can't look!)

That's it.

I give up.

I can't decide.

And, I know I should, being a parish cat and all...

Come to think of it, there are some people around here who don't have to give up anything.

(Someone this cute shouldn't have to!!)

  2. Giving up Tempations somehow would be fitting for a parish cat. LOL.

But that's rather dire. We like Mr. Pip's take on it!

  5. pfffft - If your oomans don't give up anything for lent, then why should you be deprived!! You could give up lap sitting - yes that's it - deprive your oomans of having you sit in their lap during lent! Then you will both be giving up something. he he

  10. If all the peeps aren't giving up things, I really don't think it's fair for you to have to do so. I wouldn't worry 'bout it too much.

  18. How about just throwing your paws in the air and saying, "I give up!" Is that good enough?

  30. Yeah, I'm with Cloon. Lose the purse. I bet you can find something WAY more satisfying to sleep on--like that dog, maybe? Ha ha ha ha ha!

Besides, I don't think cats have to give up anything--it's the Humans that do the sinning, right? The Kittiehs has always been purrfect.
