Notes from a parish cat and his author Julie Mackenzie

My photo
I am Father Tom Fish, esteemed member of the religious team at Temptation of Christ Parish in the novels by author Julie Mackenzie. As to my background, I was invited into the rectory as a stray, laid on the charm, and was invited to stay, even honorarily ordained and no less spiritual than my sidekick Father Will. He dotes on me to high heaven and forgives all of my street cat proclivities, whatever the hell that means.

Mitty's First Snow

Before too long, we'll be seeing spring here and I'll be watching people come and go from my spot in the front window. Wool will be replaced by open jackets, fur and suede with t-shirts. Grumpy old faces turn into happy ones. It's fun to watch.

I do have a fond memory of winter this year and it involves my little friend, Mitty. When we had our big snowfall about a week ago, I watched in wonder as he stayed glued to the window, spellbound as the world turned white. I realized that he was much too young to appreciate it before, but he sure wasn't missing one single flake now.

He couldn't take his eyes off what was coming down and kept coming..

As he was looking out the window, I noticed the little "wings" on his back.

He only turned to look at me for an instant.

Pretty cool, huh, little buddy?

This photo really shows off his tabby coloring.

Happy weekend, everybody!

Purrs,
Tom & Mitty
xx

He's a beautiful tabby boy, with such a sweet face. So cute to see him entranced by the snowflakes. Derry still is too--he tries to catch them, out in our little back space. :-)

We're all sincerely hoping that last week's snow was the last of the white stuff till the end of this year though. LOL.

Yeah, Mitty has a very very fancy jacket too.
Watching the snowflakies is a whole lot of fun, we wish we could take them and touch them. Once mom got us a bunch but they were not fun to play with.

bonks to both of you good boys for a fun week-end

Dear Tom,

What lovely photos of Mitty. They truly capture his wonderment at seeing it snow for the first time.

We love his markings. We always thought he was angelic, but those wings just about make it official, don't they?

Hugs to you all!
